Commercial Lender


This is a Contract-Jobs position in Mansfield, OH posted September 30, 2020.

This position is responsible to originate, manage, and oversee the incumbent’s portfolio of commercial loans with overall objective of maintaining and increasing portfolio asset quality; to develop new and existing business relationships.

Takes applications primarily for commercial loan business.

Reviews customer financial condition by obtaining credit report and other necessary documents and assesses the customer’s ability to re-pay the loan.

Makes underwriting recommendations to senior lender.

Completes or directs completion of all loan documents and closes loans.

Participates in developing lending and deposit business for the Bank.

Calls on clients to expand existing business; calls on prospects seeking opportunities to expand the Bank’s client base.

Monitors existing loan portfolio to maintain a high-quality asset base.

Maintains up-to-date client files including current balance sheets, profit & loss statements, cash flow projections and all loan documentation.

Collects the standard Bank fees for portfolio loans and on loans sold.

Assists in collection of past due loans.

Assists customers with any loan-related questions and concerns.

Demonstrate proficiency in independently dealing with/managing routine, non-complex credits and loan structure and intermediate complexity of loan credit and structure with assistance and support from senior loan officer.

Produce assigned loan volume as set annually by your supervisor.

To ensure and maintain asset quality of loan portfolio.

Maintain an appropriate delinquency rate of loan portfolio as set by your supervisor/Bank policy.

Collect the Bank’s standard fee income on portfolio loans and the standard fee on loans sold.

Maintain an acceptable charge-off rate as set by your supervisor/Bank policy.

Skills and Qualifications: One to three years of commercial lending experience and/or credit analysis experience.

Associate’s Degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Finance, or post high school education in banking.

The ability to motivate or influence others is a material part of the job, requiring a significant level of diplomacy and trust.

Obtaining cooperation (internally and/or externally) is an important part of the job.

Base knowledge in analyzing business financial statements and assessing the viability of businesses.

Good written and verbal communication and PR skills.

Good computer skills with ability to learn and proficiently use related software programs.

Attention to detail/analytical skills.
