Die Service Technician


This is a Contract-Jobs position in Russells Point, OH posted October 18, 2020.

About this position:Supporting equipment / Die downtime Equipment and die development / improvement projects.Support production in a dynamic fast-paced environment.Support weekend and Shutdown activities.Support training of Die service associates.Support engineering in short and long term projects.Support machine checks and maintenance activities. Line side trouble shooting and reporting of problems and repairs.Your Responsibilities:Equipment Troubleshooting.Work with Equipment Service and other areas on C/Ms.Evaluate equipment changes requires for new models.Modify and analyze existing equipment to improve process cycle time, quality, ergonomics and delivery.Perform root cause analysis, identify equipment problems and develop countermeasures.Work hands on with equipment from purchase through mass production in a team environment.Actively participate in creating and maintaining a team centered work place within the department, which includes continuous improvement, and maintaining a clean and organized work area.What you need to be successful in the role:Able to read and interpret drawings and schematics.Previous experience at die repair techniques or tool repair and maintenance.Willing to support with countermeasure ideas and implementation.Knowledge of the casting process (High Pressure Preferred) not a requirement.Knowledge of FARO or other laser scanning methods.Ability to hand finish 3D shapes when compared to a master part.Required work experience:Minimum of 3 months experience in mechanical and/or die mold maintenance field.Required Education:High School Diploma or equivalent minimum.Other Factors:Must be willing to operate overhead crane and move loads up to 30 tons.Be willing to work scheduled and non-scheduled overtime.Demonstrate solid trouble shooting skills.Able to work in hot and dirty environment.Able to work any shift and willing to change shifts if production or downtime requires the need.Be willing to work any and all scheduled shutdowns.Basic computer skills Excel, Power Point.Willing to attend and communicate in pre/post shift efficiency up meeting.Be proficient in T.I.G. weld and M.I.G. weld techniques, and hand finishing techniques.Ability to be a self-starter, learn on a continuous basis, train others, and work well in a team atmosphere.No travel with this position.Position will be for 2nd shift.
