OverviewEarly Childhood Prevention EducatorThis position will be responsible for providing parenting program groups and parenting support for caregivers with children ages birth through eight. The Early Childhood Mental Health (ECMH) consultants are located in an NCH location in downtown Columbus as part of a multidisciplinary ECMH program with a continuum of prevention and treatment services. A Place to Be ProudResponsibilities* Provide evidence-based parenting support in the community via multiple formats (group, one to one, in-person, virtual)* Develop relationships with community agencies, parenting and early childhood system agencies/entities and with local parenting partners.* Facilitate the use of outcome measures to demonstrate program effectiveness along with data collection and data entry.* Daily travel to community sites to provide services within the assigned region.* Flexible schedule including required evening availability to meet the needs of parents in the community.* Regular, reliable and consistent attendance is an essential job function. Employees are expected to perform work as scheduled.QualificationsKnowledge, Skills, Abilities Required:Education:* Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or professional school of Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Child Development/Early Childhood Education or related field.* Master’s degree preferred.Licensure:* Appropriate Ohio Licensure related to the above degrees preferred.Certifications:* Training in evidence based parenting interventions with a strong preference for individuals accredited to provide Triple P.Skills:* Comprehensive knowledge of child growth and development and family systems which impact on the development of infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.* Knowledge of community resources and ability to connect with and develop relationships with community stakeholders is desirable.* Basic technology skills including Word, Powerpoint and Excel.* Set up laptops, projectors and other equipment in community locations to support program activities and use technology including cell phones, computers, email and conferencing software to provide services to parents and caregivers of young children.* Bilingual applicants preferred (Spanish, Somali)Experience:* Training/experience with trauma-informed practices and working with vulnerable populations preferred.* Knowledge of community resources and ability to connect with and develop relationships with community stakeholders is desirable.* The above list of duties is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by individuals assigned to this classification.
